This is a far less demanding role than a Full Sworn 'Martial' Member and thus more like a 'Social Club' for balance and to round off the Order and complete it tho' not to take away their dedication and commitment to their vows. Until such time as their services are required then great effort is put in to create memorable occassions. There are however accordingly fewer privileges such as no right to attend the Governing Body's, or Chapter meetings or have a vote, altho Lay Brothers and Sisters have and can within their own jurisdiction, meetings and elect members to give them voice to their Chapter and in turn their Governing Body. Taking care of the Hospitality and the Family side of the Order for meetings and events etc and are a much appreciated aspect of the Order.
The Laity can only wear the Templar Laity front patch along with Chapter name and Templars flash, but not permitted to wear the Orders Tattoo or Main Crest. The prospects of this wing are called 'Paige's' or 'Maids'. Often made up from family members and friends of the order who enjoy closer ties without FULL commitment. If this is not enough then consider Full 'Martial Membership'.
Dues are paid at the discretion of the chapter for the upkeep of the Order and events etc this is generally half the dues of a full member but not applicable to under 18's.
